HALE EMERGES AS SECOND ROUND LEADER
(Nashville, TN) - Cody Hale has taken the lead after the second round of SunTrust State Open Championship presented by Coca-Cola. After a dominating second round of 64, Hale leads fellow Nashvillian Eric Lee by one and Ooltewah's Josh Coley by two going into tomorrow's final round. Hale started off strong birdieing three of his first four holes and making the turn four under on the day. Hale's game didn't slow down there. He finished strong with 3 birdies on the back solidifying his position atop the leaderboard. First round leader, Grant Leaver, shot a second round 73 and fell back in a tie for fifth place at 138 (3 under par).
The SunTrust State Open Championship presented by Coca-Cola is one of Tennessee's oldest and most prestigous championships. The event annually pits the state's top amateurs and professionals against each other to determine a true state golf champion. The field will be cut to the low 60 players and ties after tomorrow's second round.
