Awards
Qualifying Round: Special awards will be presented for the medalist, senior medalist, and junior medalist.
 
Match Play: Champion, Finalist, Championship Semi-Finalists, flight winners, and finalists in all other flights, including consolation flights, will receive awards. The champion will have her name engraved on the Scott S. Probasco Trophy, which is on permanent display at Golf House Tennessee.
Caddies
Caddies are required for the practice round and championship (June 22-27).  Players may bring their own caddie or employ an Honors Course Caddie.  Costs for an Honors Course Caddie is $30 if you are using a cart or $60 if you are walking, per day.  The Honors Course Caddies must be reserved in advance on your official entry application.
Cart Fees/Practice Fee - $25
Cart fees are $25 per person, per day.  The stroke play qualifying round, match play round one, and match play round two are included in your entry fee.  Cart fees for these three rounds will NOT be refunded should you choose to walk. 
 
All players will be required to pay a fee of $25 for the practice round, regardless of whether or not you are walking or using a cart.  The practice round fee will be collected at registration (June 22).  Cart fees for round three and the final round will collected prior to those rounds each day.  Only players using a cart will be required to pay a cart fee for the third round and final round.
Code of Conduct
Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, excessive drinking or gambling) may include censure, suspension or revocation of playing privileges.  USGA Decisions on the Rules of Golf - US/33-8/101.
Eligibility
Open to amateur female golfers who were female at birth, have been a resident of Tennessee for at least six (6) months prior to the Championship, have been a member of a TGA member club or course in good standing for at least 60 days prior to the Championship, and have a USGA Handicap Index from a TGA member club or course not exceeding 23.0 at the time of entry.
Entry Deadline

Entry applications must reach the TGA office by 5:00 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday, June 18, 2008.  Late or incomplete applications are not accepted.  Telephoned or faxed entry applications are not accepted.  Time limit for entries means time of receipt at the TGA office, not time of postmark.
Flights/Byes
In the event that the field is not full after being seeded for match play, which would result in "byes," these "byes" will be spread out evenly amongst the flights (excluding Championship and the First Flight).
Format
The Tennessee Women's Amateur Championship is contested at match play with an 18 hole stroke play qualifier to determine positions for match play and medalist honors.  The low 32 players will qualify for the Championship Flight and the remainder of the field will be seeded in flights of 16.   

 

Handicap Index - May 23rd
The TGA Handicap Revision date of May 23rd will be used in determining player's indexes for the Championship.
Honors Course Guest Houses
Only contestants will be allowed to reserve rooms at The Honors Course Guest Houses.  Space is very limited and will be given on a first come, first serve basis.  All rooms have two beds and a private bathroom.  The price for double occupancy is $100+tax per person, per night.  For single occupancy the cost is $200+tax per person, per night.  A minimum three nights stay is required.  Reservations must be made by calling Dori Webb at (615) 790-7600.
Host Hotel
The Country Suites will serve as the Host Hotel for the Women's Amateur Championship.  A rate of $89.95+tax per night has been secured.  Please tell the agent your are a participant in the Women's Amateur Championship.  Country Suites, (423) 899-2300.
Personal Charges
A temporary personal account will be set-up for each player at The Honors Course.  Players will be issued their personal account number at registration on June 22nd.  Note:  Caddie fees for Honors Course Caddies ($30/$60) may be charged to your personal account.  Any additional tip money for Honors Course Caddies must be cash.
Range Fee
Range fees are included in your entry fee.
Tees
Three sets of yardages will be used during the championship.  All contestants will play from the same tees and same yardage for the stroke play qualifying round.  After the stroke play qualifying round, all players in the Championship Flight will move back to play from the Championship yardage and players in all other flights will move forward to play from the flighted yardage from a separate set of tees.

 

Withdrawal/Refund

Withdrawal 

If an entrant must withdraw prior to the Championship, she must contact the TGA office at (615) 790-7600.  If a contestant must withdraw during the Championship, she must notify the TGA Official in Charge or Official Scorer before leaving the premises.  After the stroke play qualifying round, once the last score has been officially posted, all contestants will have one (1) hour to decide if they will compete in match play.  Players who withdraw after this one (1) hour grace period will be asked to submit a letter to the TGA indicating her reason for withdrawal.  The letter will be subject to review by the TGA and the Women's Competitions Committee.  Failure to follow this procedure could result in loss of playing priviledges in future TGA events. 
 
Refund
 
Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason before the close of entries on Wednesday, June 18, 2008.  A $15 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds except those for illness or injury.  Note:  Due to commitments we have made with the golf course, no refunds will be given after the entry deadline, except for illness or injury.  To receive a refund for this reason the request must be in writing and accompanied by a doctor's note.  NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JUNE 22ND REGARDLESS OF REASON.
