JOHN FOX WINS 2008 TGA MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
(Loudon) John Fox defeated Tim Jackson in the final match by a 1 up margin to capture the 2008 TGA Match Play Championship which was conducted at Tennessee National. Fox defeated Ian Rochester in his morning semifinal match while Tim Jackson defeated Peter Malnati, both matches were decided by a 1 up margin. In the final match, Fox and Jackson went back and forth and both players led the match at different stages. Fox squared the match by winning the 17th hole and then pitched in from off the green for birdie on the 18th hole to win the match 1 up.
