The Links at Kahite: Day 2
After yesterday’s evening storm, Tuesday’s links were rather damp, raising the bar of competition to a new level. Mixing this element with the very steep and mountainous course at Kahite made today’s course a bit more complex.
As scores were tallied at the close of day 2, we yet again find Maggie Scott, of Charleston, at the top of the leader board. Finishing today with a 78, she stands ahead of the other 95 contestants with a current total score of 152 (74, 78). Debbie Durham, of Signal Mountain, currently holds the second place position in the championship flight, shooting a 75 today. Durham’s current overall score of 153 (78, 75) puts her on the brink of taking the champion title from Scott.
Marsha Gaster, of Loudon, leads the first flight with a score of 171 (93, 78). Kenlyn Stewart, of Knoxville, finished at the top of the second flight today with a 15 stroke difference than her first day of play: 183 (93, 78). Barbara Buchanan, of Decatur, is the leader of her flight with a total score of 183 (96, 87). Joanne Walker, of Gallatin, rounds out our Women’s Senior competition leader board with a 191 (102, 89), putting Walker at the crown of the fourth flight.
