Accept. of Places/Notice of WD

ACCEPTANCE OF PLACES/ NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL: A contestant who must withdraw before a qualifying round or the championship proper must notify the TGA office (615-790-7600) or the Official in Charge at the site of the event. If a contestant must withdraw during an event, he must notify the Official in Charge or the Official Scorer. If a competitor does not show for an event or fails to follow the above procedure, their actions may result in a one-year suspension from all TGA competitions.

Cart Policy

CART POLICY: Cart fees are included in your entry fee for qualifying rounds and for the Championship. Players may ride, carry their bag or have a caddie at qualifying and at the Championship, however no refunds will be given for unused cart fees and players choosing to walk must adhere to the established Pace of Play policy. USE OF CARTS IS LIMITED TO CONTESTANTS ONLY.

Conduct Code

CONDUCT CODE: Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, excessive drinking or gambling) may include censure, suspension or revocation of playing privilege. USGA Decisions on the Rules of Golf - (US/33-8/101).

Eligibility

ELIGIBILITY:

Professionals - Applications are open to Tennessee residents (as of at least six months prior to the Championship). Professionals are not required to be an active member of the Tennessee Section PGA in order to compete. Tennessee Section Members and Apprentices must be in good standing as of the entry deadline in order to participate as a Tennessee Section PGA Member. Members and Apprentices not in good standing must enter as a non-TPGA professional.

Amateurs - Applications are open to Tennessee residents (as of at least six months prior to the Championship) who meet the USGA definition of an amateur golfer and possess a USGA Handicap Index® of 10.0 or less from a TGA member club or course. Persons applying for reinstatement to amateur status and non-amateurs are not eligible. All amateur applications will be reviewed by the TGA to verify that each entrant has an active USGA Handicap Index®. Any amateur whose name does not appear on the TGA’s handicap roster will be ineligible and their entry application and entry fee will be returned.

Footwear

FOOTWEAR: Traditional type spikes, regardless of composition, are prohibited at all qualifying rounds and at the championship proper. Penalty for breach of this condition of play is disqualification.

Qual. Places, Ties, Subst. QUALIFYING PLACES, TIES, SUBSTITUTIONS: The number of qualifying places at each qualifying location will be determined by the TGA, based on the size of the field in relation to the total number of qualifying places available. Any ties for the last qualifying place(s) shall be decided by sudden death playoff immediately upon conclusion of the qualifying round. Alternate places shall be determined by the USGA recommended method for deciding ties. Substitution, in order of qualifying scores, will be permitted for qualifiers unable to compete in the Championship. Alternates have no status at the Championship.
Qualifying

QUALIFYING: Each entrant not exempt shall compete in an 18 hole qualifying round at one of the locations listed on page 2. The qualifying location must be designated on the entry application. Transfer to another qualifying location is permissible only before the entry deadline. Transfer after the entry deadline is not permitted. Contestants may enter only one qualifying round. Non-PGA Professionals may only enter the qualifying round on April 30th at The Legacy Golf Course. This qualifier will be open to non-PGA professionals only.

 

Refunds

REFUNDS: No refund will be issued after the entry deadline except for illness or injury. To receive a refund due to illness or injury, the request must be made in writing and accompanied by a doctor's statement. For a refund before the entry deadline, a $15.00 withdrawal fee will be charged to anyone withdrawing from a tournament for any reason except for illness/injury with doctor’s statement.

 

Rules of Golf

RULES OF GOLF: Play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and the most current TGA Rules of Play Card. All questions shall be settled by the Committee in charge of the competition, whose decision is final.

 

TGA Dress Code

TGA DRESS CODE: Contestants must wear appropriate attire. Gym shorts, cut offs, shirts without collars, and denim shorts or pants are not acceptable. Mock turtlenecks are acceptable based upon the host club’s policy. Shorts must be bermuda type in length. All professionals are required to wear pants throughout the championship. Tennessee PGA dress code governs TPGA members.
