Awards
Qualifying Round: Special awards will be presented for the medalist, senior medalist, and junior medalist.
 
Match Play: Champion, Finalist, Championship Semi-Finalists, flight winners, and finalists in all other flights, including consolation flights, will receive awards. The champion will have her name engraved on the Scott S. Probasco Trophy, which is on permanent display at Golf House Tennessee.
Caddies
A limited number of Memphis Country Club caddies are available upon request.  Contests will be advised to contact Memphis Country Club (901) 321-6560, to reserve a caddie and that they are a first come, first serve basis.  Note that caddies are not allowed to ride in or on golf carts unless they have been approved with a handicap condition by the TGA.
 

Contestants may use a caddie.  Caddies will NOT be permitted to ride in carts.  If shuttles are available caddies may ride in a cart designated as a “shuttle” or with a tournament official.  These two instances, and when play has been suspended, are the only instances where caddies are permitted to be in a golf cart.  

Code of Conduct
Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, excessive drinking or gambling) may include censure, suspension or revocation of playing privileges.  USGA Decisions on the Rules of Golf - US/33-8/101.
Eligibility
Open to amateur female golfers who were female at birth, have been a resident of Tennessee for at least six (6) months prior to the Championship start date, have been a member of a TGA member club or course in good standing for at least 60 days prior to the Championship start date, and have a USGA Handicap Index from a TGA member club or course not exceeding 23.0* at the time of entry.
Entry Deadline

Entry applications must reach the TGA office by 5:00 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday, June 17, 2009.  Late or incomplete applications are not accepted.  Telephoned or faxed entry applications are not accepted.  Time limit for entries means time of receipt at the TGA office, not time of postmark.
Fees
Player entry fee is $235 - note that the entry fee includes cart & range fees for the practice round, stroke play qualifying and the first two rounds of match play. 
 
Carts are limited to contestants, staff, and tournament officials/committee only.  Contestants will be notified of the limited number of golf carts and will be asked to reserve in advance. 
 
Cart fees are required for the practice round, stroke play qualifying and the first two rounds of match play, these fees are included in your player entry fee.  These fees will not be refunded if you choose to walk.
Flights/Byes
In the event that the field is not full after being seeded for match play, which would result in "byes," these "byes" will be spread out evenly amongst the flights (excluding Championship and the First Flight).
Format
The Tennessee Women's Amateur Championship is contested at match play with an 18 hole stroke play qualifier to determine positions for match play and medalist honors.  The low 32 players will qualify for the Championship Flight and the remainder of the field will be seeded in flights of 16.   

 

Golf Cart Policy

  Contestants must be 16 years of age or older to drive a golf cart.  Only contestants are allowed to drive or ride in golf carts.  

Guest Fees

Any guests wishing to attend the welcome party and banquet will be required to sign-up in advance.  A formal invitation will be sent to players for guest. The guest fee will be $60.

Handicap index limit: 23.0 at time of entry.
Host Hotel

Late Registration

 1. Contestants must register in person at Memphis CC by 2:00 p.m. or call the TGA office at (615) 790-7600 to request late registration.  Position may forfeited by player whom no word is received by June 22nd at 2:00 p.m. CDT. 

2. Starting times must be scheduled by calling the golf shop 2 weeks in advance. Please do not call before June 8th.

Locker Rooms/Clubhouse
Players will have access to the Memphis Country Club ladies locker rooms and clubhouse.
Personal Charges
All purchases at Memphis CC MUST be with cash only.  Checks and/or credit cards will not be accepted.  Please come prepared to pay with cash.
Refund Policy

Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason before the close of entries on Wednesday, June 17, 2009.  A $15 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds except those for illness or injury.  Note:  Due to commitments we have made with the golf course, no refunds will be given after the entry deadline, except for illness or injury.  To receive a refund for this reason the request must be in writing and accompanied by a doctor's note.  NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JUNE 22nd REGARDLESS OF REASON.

Tees
All contestants will play from the same tees and same yardage for the stroke play qualifying round.  After the stroke play qualifying round, all players in the Championship Flight will move back to play from the Championship yardage and players in all other flights will move forward to play from the flighted yardage from a separate set of tees.

 

Withdrawal/Concession Policy

If an entrant chooses to withdraw prior to the Championship, she must contact the TGA office at (615) 790-7600.  If a contestant chooses to withdraw during the Championship, she must notify the TGA Official in Charge or Official Scorer before leaving the premises.  After the stroke play qualifying round, once the last score has been officially posted, all contestants will have one (1) hour to decide if they will compete in match play.  Players who withdraw after this one (1) hour grace period or concede a match will be asked to submit a letter to the TGA indicating her reason for withdrawal/concession.  The letter will be subject to review by the TGA and the Women's Competitions Committee.  If contestant fails to submit a letter or fails to provide a satifactory reason, the contestant will be suspended from competing in this same Championship the following year.
