Age Divisions
There are two divisions, each at stroke play, girls 10-14 and girls 15-18.  Girls 10-14 may compete in the 15-18 age division if they choose, but must declare this on the official entry application.  The 10-14 age division plays only 9 holes each day. 
 
Note:  Age division may NOT be changed after the deadline for entries on July 1st.
 
AJGA Exemptions

The AJGA is giving the following tournament exemptions based upon the results from the 2009 Girls' Junior Amateur:

Champion - Two  (2) Tournament Exemptions

Top 3 - One (1) Tournament Exemption

Awards

Medalist awards will be given in both age divisions for each round.  The TN Girls Junior Amateur Champion (15-18 age divison) will receive a crystal award and will have her name engraved on the Ruth Eller Trophy that is on permanent display at Golf House Tennessee.  A trophy will be presented to the overall winner in the 10-14 age division. 

Caddies
Caddies are NOT permitted.  All players must walk and carry their own bag.
Cart Policy

Please note for the TN Girl's Junior Amateur Championship that carts are not permitted, all players must walk and carry their own bag.

Carts will be available for spectators to rent. 

Code of Conduct
Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, excessive drinking or gambling) may include censure, suspension or revocation of playing privileges.  USGA Decisions on the Rules of Golf - US/33-8/101.
Dress Code
Contestants MUST wear proper attire at all times during the practice round and competition.  Short shorts, jeans, tank tops, etc. are unacceptable. 
Eligibility
Open to female amateur golfers who have reached their 10th birthday by July 6, 2009 and have not reached their 19th birthday on or before July 8, 2009.  All entrants must be bona fide residents of Tennessee as of at least six months prior to the Championship.
Entry Deadline
All players must file an entry application by the entry deadline - Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.(CDT) to be eligible to compete in the Championship.  LATE ENTRY APPLICATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.  Applications must have been reached at the TGA office by the entry deadline (postmark date is irrelevant).  Phoned or faxed entries will not be accepted.  The TGA is not responsible for misdirected mail.  Entrants should mail entry forms early to allow for postal delays.  Entry applications may also be delivered in person to the TGA office at Golf House Tennessee in Franklin.
Fees
Entry fee- $75.00
 
Each player will be required to pay a $15 range fee at registration (cash or check).  This will cover range balls for the duration of the tournament.
Host Hotel
The  Hampton Inn is the host hotel.  Room rate is $65+tax, per night, includes hot breakfest and 2 queen beds in each room. Call (423).638.3735 for reservations.  Tell the representative you are a participant in the State Junior Girls Tournament.  Reserve early to ensure availability. 
Refund Policy

Refunds will not be issued after the entry deadline of Wednesday, July 1, 2009 unless the reason is for illness or injury.  To receive a refund because of illness or injury, the request must be made in writing and accompanied by a doctor's statement.  NO refunds will be issued after July 5th regardless of reason.  A $15 administrative fee is charged to all withdrawals, except those for illness or injury.

 

Note:  Due to commitments we have made with the golf course, no refunds will be given after the entry deadline, except for illness or injury.  To receive a refund for this reason the request must be in writing and accompanied by a doctor's note

Registration/Starting Times

Player registration will take place at Link Hills CC.  Players must register in person by 3:00 p.m. (CDT) on Sunday, July 5th.  If you are not able to register in person please contact the TGA office, (615) 790-7600, to request late registration. Position may be forfeited by player from whom no word is received by July 5th at 3:00 p.m. (CDT).

Please contact Link Hills CC golf shop, (423) 639-2961, to schedule your practice round.  Starting times must be scheduled by calling the golf shop, (423). 639.2961, two weeks in advance.

Withdrawal Policy
If an entrant chooses to withdraw prior to the Championship, she must contact the TGA office at (615) 790-7600.  If a contestant chooses to withdraw during the Championship, she must notify the TGA Official in Charge or the Official Scorer before leaving the premises.  Failure to follow this procedure could result in loss of playing privledges in future TGA competitions.
