Awards
Champion receives a crystal award and name engraved on the Women's Open Trophy.  Low Amateur receives a crystal award. 
 
Professional Purse - $15,000, low professional receives a first place check for $5,000.
 
 
Caddies

Contestants may use a caddie.  Caddies will NOT be permitted to ride in carts.  If shuttles are available caddies may ride in a cart designated as a “shuttle” or with a tournament official.  These two instances, and when play has been suspended, are the only instances where caddies are permitted to be in a golf cart.

Code of Conduct
Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, excessive drinking or gambling) may include censure, suspension or revocation of playing privileges.  USGA Decisions on the Rules of Golf - US/33-8/101.
Eligibility
Open to professional and amateur golfers who meet the following eligibility requirements:
 
Professionals - open to female professional golfers who were female at birth.  Professional entrants are not required to reside in Tennessee.
 
Amateurs - open to female amateur golfers who were female at birth, are a resident of Tennessee or a state that borders Tennessee, and:
Tennessee residents - must have been a member at a TGA member club or course at least sixty days prior to the Championship, possess a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 10.0 from a TGA member club or course, and have been a resident of Tennessee at least six months prior to the Championship.
 
Residents of states that border Tennessee (Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolinia, and Virginia) - must have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 10.0 from a regional or state golf association in their respective state. Entrants must have been a resident of that state for at least six months prior to the Championship.
 
Entry Deadline
Entry applications must reach the TGA office by 5:00 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009.  Late or incomplete applications are not accepted.  Telephoned or faxed entry applications are not accepted. Time limit for entries means time of receipt at the TGA office, not time of postmark. 
Fees
Professionals - $185 / Amateurs - $150
These fees include golf, cart, and range balls for the practice round, round one, and round two.  Players who make the cut to low 60 and ties will pay their final round fees ($25) to the golf shop on Wednesday, July 18th. Fees will not be refunded to players who choose to walk.
 
Field - 120 Players
Professionals - 60 positions will be reserved for the first 60 professionals to enter.  If more than 60 applications are received, beginning with the 61st entry, professionals will be placed on a waiting list.  Note - after close of entries, if a field of 60 professionals has not been reached, amateur entrants may be added to reach a full field of 120.  Entrants will receive acknowledgements via email or U.S. mail.
 
Amateurs - 60 positions will be reserved for amateurs with 30 reserved for Tennessee residents.  Amateurs will be accepted into the field based on official USGA Handicap Index.  All amateurs will be notified of their status in the Championship after close of entries (July 8th).  Note- after close of entries, if a field of 60 players has not been reached, professional entrants may be added to reach a full field of 120.  Entrants will receive acknowledgements via email or U.S. mail.
Format
54 holes at stroke play, players cut to low 60 scorers and ties after 36 holes (round two), professionals and amateurs play same yardage.
Refund Policy
Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason before the close of entries on Wednesday, July 8, 2009.  A $15 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds except those for illness or injury.  Note:  Due to commitments we have made with the golf course, no refunds will be given after the entry deadline, except for illness or injury.  To receive a refund for this reason the request must be in writing and accompanied by a doctor's note.  NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JULY 15 REGARDLESS OF REASON.
 

Failure to follow this procedure could result in loss of playing priviledges in future TGA events.  

Registration/Starting Times

Contestants must register in person at Stonehenge GC by 3:00 p.m. or call the TGA office at (615) 790-7600 to request late registration.  Position may be forfeited by player from whom no word is received by July 15th at 3:00 p.m.

To make a starting time request for rounds one and two you must contact the TGA office at (615)-790-7600 or email dwebb@pgahq.com, no later than the entry deadline, Wednesday, July 8th at 5:00 p.m. CDT.  No requests will be honored after this time.

Starting times must be scheduled by calling the golf shop at Stonehenge Gofl Club, (931) 484-3731, two weeks in advance.

SWATC Qualifying
Southeastern Women's Amateur Team Championship (SWATC) Qualifying
 
Qualifying for this event will take place during rounds one and two (36 hole qualifier) of the Tennessee Women's Open.  You MUST be a TN resident, possess a USGA/GHIN handicap index of 7.0 or less from a TGA member club/course.  You MUST be 18 years of age or older and NOT active on a college or university women's golf team roster.  For more information about this championship contact the TGA office at (615) 790-7600.

Withdrawal Policy
If an entrant chooses to withdraw prior to the Championship, she must contact the TGA office at (615) 790-7600.  If a contestant chooses to withdraw during the Championship, she must notify the TGA Official in Charge or the Official Scorer before leaving the premises.  Failure to follow this procedure could result in loss of playing privledges in future TGA competitions.
