The Tennessee Golf Association is delighted that you will be participating in the 2009 Tennessee Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Jackson Country Club. Below are a few reminders about the event. Please read carefully.
Practice Round
Contact Jackson Country Club at (731) 668-0688 to schedule your practice round for Monday, September 21st. Practice times must be scheduled by calling the golf shop at least two weeks in advance. Please mention that you are a contestant in the TN’s Women’s Senior Amateur Championship.
Registration
Player registration will take place from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. CST at Jackson Country Club. Contestants must register either in person by 2:00 p.m. CST on September 21st or call the TGA Office at (615) 790-7600 to request late registration. Position may be forfeited by a player from whom no word is received by September 21st at 2:00 p.m. CST.
Format
Play will be contested at 54 holes of stroke play.
18 hole qualifying round: All players will play their first round from approximately 5,300 yards. After all first round scores are posted the field will be divided equally into flights (Championship and Flights 1-4) with all like scores in the same flight. If a player did not play their way into the championship flight, they will have half an hour after all first round scores are posted to "opt" into the championship flight.
The championship flight will move to a slightly longer set of tees. All other flights (flighted division) will play from a shorter set of tees. The remaining two rounds will be contested within each flight (36 holes). The Women's Senior Amateur Champion will come from the championship flight only.
Super Senior Award: A super senior award, age 65+, will be awarded in each division, flighted and championship, based upon 54 hole total score.
Starting times must be scheduled by calling the golf shop (731)-668-0688 two weeks in advance.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top six finishers in each flight, gross only. Specials events will be given in each flight for fewest putts, longest drive, and closest to the hole.
Withdrawal / Refunds
If an entrant chooses to withdraw prior to the Championship, she must contact the TGA office at (615) 790-7600. If a contestant chooses to withdraw during the Championship, she must notify the TGA Official in Charge or the Official Scorer before leaving the premises. Failure to follow this procedure could result in loss of playing privileges in future TGA competitions.
Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason before the close of entries on Wednesday, September 16, 2009. A $15 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds except those for illness or injury. Note: Due to commitments we have made with the golf course, no refunds will be given after the entry deadline, except for illness or injury. To receive a refund for this reason the request must be in writing and accompanied by a doctor's note. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER SEPTEMBER 21st REGARDLESS OF REASON
F e e s / C h a r e g e s
Cart and range fees for three rounds are included in your entry fee. Practice round fees of $25 are NOT included in your entry fee and must be paid to the golf shop. Cart fees are required. Contestants may use cash, check, or credit card for these charges and other purchases throughout the week.
Jackson CC will allow each participant to have a personal account set up for individual charges throughout the duration of the tournament. Your individual accumulated charges will then be billed to your home address for payment.
Dress Code
Contestants shall wear proper attire at all times during the practice round and competition. Short shorts, gym shorts, jeans, tank tops, etc. are unacceptable.
